How to choose a full wig, half wig, or partial weaving

The first choice is coverage, not colour. The wrong type will look off no matter how well you match the shade. Use the questions below. In Hong Kong, try on in Mong Kok; from overseas, send photos.

Coverage diagram: full wig, half wig, or partial weaving.

Ask: how much do you want to cover?

Colour and length can be adjusted later. Coverage is harder to undo. Match yourself to one of these.

  • A full change, or all-day coverage (including medical-use wear) → full wig.
  • Keep your own front hairline; add length or layers at the back and sides → half wig.
  • Fill a parting, crown, or thin patch → partial weaving.
  • Only a ponytail, fringe, or extra length → you may not need a full wig; look at extensions and accessories.

Full wig

Your own hair sits underneath. Best for all-day coverage, including medical-use wear. Aim for a natural hairline and a light feel — bigger is not automatically better.

  • In Hong Kong: a Mong Kok try-on is the surest check for the front and sides.
  • Overseas: send daylight photos — front, side, and your current hair colour.
  • Unsure of cap size? Don’t guess. WhatsApp your head circumference or a photo in a cap.

Half wig

You keep your own fringe area and add length or layers behind. The join must look right in everyday light, not only under shop lamps.

  • Best when you want to keep your hairline but change length quickly.
  • Check the join in person or from a sharp photo.
  • If your own front hair is very sparse, a full wig may sit more securely — ask us.

Partial weaving

Your own hair still shows. Best for a thin parting, a flat crown, or a little extra volume. You do not need a full wig.

  • Colour match is easiest in the showroom; from overseas, send a close-up of your hair plus one shot in daylight.
  • If you only need a small patch, say exactly where — so you don’t buy more coverage than you need.

Then length, wave, and colour

Type first, then style. Men’s pieces follow the same coverage question, then the men’s collection for shorter cuts.

  1. Choose full, half, or partial.
  2. Pick length and wave (straight, loose, or more curl).
  3. Match colour in daylight when you can — avoid judging from a yellow indoor photo only.
  4. Book a try-on if you are in Hong Kong; from overseas, send all of the above in one WhatsApp.
